Prof. Guo received his Ph.D degree in 1991 from Northwestern Polytechnical University. He has long been engaged in the research of 3D damage tolerance of aircraft structure, the mechanical theory and key technology of force-electromagnetic and fluid-solid coupling of low-dimensional functional materials. He established 3D elastic-plastic fracture theory and 3D damage tolerance design method of aircraft structure and constructed the physical-mechanical theory system of force-electric-thermal-magnetic coupling of low-dimensional nanomaterial structure. Prof. Guo discovered a series of intelligent characteristics and new principles of energy transformation of nanomaterials, developing the kinetic-electric theory. Prof. Guo proposed the concept of water voltage-effect. Prof. Fang was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2017. He has won National Natural Science Award (second class) of China, Science and Technology Awards by Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.
